Welcome Brooks Cameron Riley!

Congratulations to Kim, Chris andEmerson who welcomed their son, Brooks Cameron Riley, on May 14th. He was a healthy 8 lbs 7 oz and both mom and baby are doing great! We are so happy for you and can't wait to meet the little man!

The Riley girls better watch out as they are officially outnumbered by the Riley and Townsend boys. Miss Madison and Emerson no longer rule the roost!

Congratulations again, we love you very much!

Mother's Day 2010- My first!

I had a fantastic first Mother's Day! Cooper and Troy surprised me with breakfast in bed and then took me to a local resort, The Buttes, to celebrate. We had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool and enjoying family time. Cooper had his first swim in the pool and enjoyed (didn't love!) his first ride in his baby float. Thank you to Cooper and Troy for making my first Mother's Day a fantastic one. I love my boys so much!

Visit to the Phoenix Zoo!

We had our friends Heather and Amelia come down and visit from Prescott, AZ which is about 2 hours north of Phoenix. We had a great time and went to the Phoenix Zoo and the Sugarbowl restaurant (known for their fantastic sundaes!). Jen, Connor and Eli Stuart met us at the zoo as well and we all had a blast checking out the animals.
Troy made a fast friend with Amelia who is such a sweet little girl. We look forward to seeing the girls again soon!
As you can see Cooper wasn't that interested in the animals...he slept the entire time! :)

10 weeks!

Cooper is getting so big! He is a whopping 15 pounds now at 10 weeks! I think we may have a linebacker on our hands. We had a great weekend and went to a "Concert in the Park" in the Foothills of South Mountain by our house. We went with Grandma and Gramps Townsend and the Stuart Family. We had a great time and Cooper was a great boy as always. He loves bath time and Mommy couldn't help but give him a baby mohawk!

Blessings in Disguise

First of all, I am sorry it has taken me so long to post new pictures of Cooper and his adventures. We have been incredibly busy and I have been so bad about posting! Last month we flew to Tennessee (Cooper did fantastic!) to help Grandma Riley out after her surgery. We spent an amazing 3 weeks visiting Tennessee and took long walks in Westhaven, fed the ducks and did alot of relaxing on the front porch. While we were there we were blessed to be able to see Grandma and Pops Riley, Uncle Chris, Aunt Mandy, Uncle Brian, Madison and Carter. We got a surprise visit from Troy's family as well who made the drive up to Franklin to visit with Cooper. Thanks for coming up to visit Norton/Merrell family! It was great to see everyone and we had wonderful visits. As my mom was recovering, Memere was able to come down to visit with her 4th great grandbaby!! She enjoyed alot of Cooper time and was a huge help to my mom. We are so glad that Grandma Riley is healthy and has had a great recovery. WE LOVE YOU!! Cooper hit some milestones while in Franklin. He now smiles and coos all of the time and has "baby conversations" with us. He is much more responsive to Mommy and Daddy and Scout (especially when Scout licks his head!). He now sleeps through the night and goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps until 5:30. It has made such a difference in our day to day routine. I owe Mandy and Brian my life because they suggested the miracle blanket and it has worked wonders. I highly suggest this lifesaver!! http://www.miracleblanket.com/
I go back to work on May 10th and am not looking forward to leaving my boys. I love being a momma and it will be a difficult transition but one I know we can handle. Fortunately I work from home and my job offers alot of flexibility. Troy will be the stay at home dad while I work during the week. I love that we don't have to put Cooper in daycare and Troy will be able to get some good bonding time.
Cooper had his 8 week checkup and is in picture perfect health. He is weighing in at 13 pounds 6 ounces and is in the 90% percentile for weight!
Here are some pictures of our adventures! Enjoy!
